Memory

Memory tests occur on the last school day of the week (Friday or an occasional Thursday).  Not every memory test will look the same.  Sometimes, memory is strictly speaking the selection orally to the teacher.  Other times, memory tests will be in fill in the blank form.  Still others will involve writing about the meaning of the verse.  Memorizing scripture is not just a rote task but one with the purpose of instilling an understanding and love of Christ.  Please take time each week to discuss the memory verse with your child.  Have them write it out.  Hang it in your home in a prominent place to refer to throughout the week.

Aug. 30- Sept. 3

“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another”

John 13:35

Sept. 7-10

Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.”

1 John 2:10

Sept. 13-17

“but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him”

1 John 2:5

Spelling

Spelling words are presented the first school day of the week and written in lesson planners.  If your child is absent or late to school the first day of the week, words can be found here.  Please have them write their words in their planner as soon as they are able.
